Children’s Programs: Connecting through Learning and Play on the Land

Welcome!

Out to Play is committed to broadening access to connection with the land and outdoor play opportunities for children and families across urban Ottawa.

We hold space for the magic of childhood, for movement and expression, for the biggest voices and quiet sit spots, for wonder and questions, for make believe and stories, for tree climbing, bug watching, trail wandering, and for unhurried time on the land together.

Out to Play offers part-time children’s programs and weekly Drop-In programs onsite at Out to Play Farm and Forest School located at Beetbox Farm on Carling Ave in Nepean; and at accessible urban wild spaces across the city.

Out to Play is a Forest and Nature School with an approach that is child-centred, play-based and curiosity-led learning and connecting through play on the land. To learn more about Forest and Nature Schools we encourage you to check out the Child and Nature Alliance of Canada.

Out to Play programs are open to all children and families inclusive of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, physical ability and socio-economic status barriers. We are committed to making our programs increasingly accessible each year and our community safe and welcoming.

Out to Play programs take place on the unceded traditional territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabe nation. We acknowledge those on the land before us and on the land alongside us. We are grateful to be here.
